What a Monthly Social Media Video Package Should Include

By Kevin Grafton, Director

Why Brands Are Moving To Always-On Content

Most brands in Bangkok post on social media every week. Few have the crew to film every week. The usual fix is a one-off shoot, which fills the feed for a month and then leaves a gap.

A monthly social media video package solves this. In the industry it is often called always-on content: a steady supply of video planned, filmed and edited on a fixed monthly schedule. You agree a scope once. Each month follows the same cycle of plan, shoot, edit, post and review.

The hard part is comparing offers. Two social media video packages in Bangkok can look the same on paper and deliver very different months. This guide explains what an always-on content package should include, so you know what to ask for.

Shoot Days: How Much Filming A Month Needs

The shoot day is the engine of any always-on content plan. Most brands do not need a crew on site every week, they need one or two well-planned days that produce several weeks of material. On a single day, a crew can film a product demo, a few short tips, a staff introduction and behind-the-scenes clips. Each one becomes its own post later.

Ask three questions about shoot days:

  • How many days, and how long? A half day suits a small product range. A full day suits several locations or a larger cast.

  • Where? A studio, your office, a store or a street location in Bangkok. Moving between locations eats into filming time.

  • What do you prepare? Products, people on camera and any internal approvals should be ready before the crew arrives.

Edits Per Month And The Mix Of Videos

Raw footage has little value on its own. What matters is the number of finished edits you receive each month, ready to post.

A good package spells out the mix. A typical month might include:

  • 5 to 15 short vertical videos for Reels and TikTok

  • Product or how-to clips

  • Interview clips with staff or customers

  • Behind-the-scenes or team content

  • Story cut-downs and teasers taken from longer pieces

The right mix depends on what you sell and where your audience watches. A food brand may lean on short product clips. A B2B company may need more interviews and explainers. Our post on why video matters for Bangkok's B2B brands covers that side in more detail.

Why Real Footage Matters For Trust

Many brands see AI-generated video as a shortcut. For most, it does more harm than good, and it rarely saves the money or time it promises.

People buy from brands they trust. That holds for a shopper choosing a skincare product and for a procurement team choosing a supplier. Both look for social proof: real staff, real customers and real products in real places. Footage of your actual team and premises shows that your business exists and stands behind what it sells. This is especially true in the food and beverage sector, a resturaunt posting AI generated graphics and videos risks ruining their brand's reputation.

AI video sends the opposite signal. It reads as low trust and low effort, and it can make a brand look cheap or even fake.

AI video is also not as cheap as it looks, and unusable results take many attempts, and each attempt uses credits. In our experience, making good AI content often takes longer than a well-planned real shoot.

You also give up control. On a real shoot, you choose the people, the product and every frame, with AI, you are steering a tool that can change a face, a logo or a product detail from one clip to the next.

An always-on content plan built on real shoots gives your feed proof that there are real people behind the logo.

Formats And Platforms

Each platform favors a different shape. Your package should state which formats you get for every edit.

  • 9:16 vertical for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts

  • 1:1 or 4:5 for Facebook and Instagram feeds

  • 16:9 horizontal for YouTube and your website

Planning for several formats starts on set. The camera team frames shots so they work when cropped to vertical. If this is left to the edit, heads and products get cut off.

Language matters too. Many brands in Thailand post in Thai, English or both. Check whether subtitles are included, and whether they are burned into the video or supplied as separate files.

Planning And Content Briefs

Always-on content runs on a calendar. Without one, shoot days fill up with whatever is easy to film.

A solid package includes a monthly planning step. This is usually a short call to agree topics, product launches and dates that matter, such as campaigns or holidays.

From that call, the production team prepares a content brief for each video, well before the shoot. A good brief covers:

  • The goal of the video and the platform it runs on

  • The key message, plus any must-have lines or products

  • Style and tone: pace, music, color, on-screen text and reference videos

  • A short script or shot list

  • Who appears on camera and where it is filmed

  • Format, length and language

Every party signs off on the briefs before the shoot day is booked. That means your marketing team, any internal approvers such as brand or legal, and the production team. When everyone has agreed the content and style in advance, the shoot runs to plan and the edit needs fewer changes.

Agree who approves on your side, and by when. In our experience, late approvals are a common reason a month slips. We cover this in more depth in our guide to how long a brand film takes from brief to final cut.

Revisions, Turnaround And Approvals

Every package should be clear on three points:

  • Revision rounds. How many rounds of changes are included per edit.

  • Feedback windows. How long you have to send comments before the edit moves on.

  • What counts as a new edit. A new caption is a revision. A new concept usually counts as a new video.

Clear rules here protect both sides. You get changes when you need them, and the monthly schedule stays on track.

Adding Social Media Management

Some brands want video only. Others want the same team to handle posting too. A package can include captions, scheduling, community replies and a monthly report on what performed well.

The benefit is a shorter loop. The team that films the content sees how it performs, and next month's plan improves as a result. Ask whether this is included or offered as a separate service.

How To Compare Two Packages

When you have two offers side by side, check each one against this list:

  1. Number of shoot days per month, and their length

  2. Number of finished edits per month, and the mix of types

  3. Formats supplied for each edit

  4. Languages and subtitles included

  5. Content briefs prepared and approved before each shoot

  6. Revision rounds per edit

  7. Who owns the raw footage and the finished files

  8. Minimum contract length

If an offer leaves any of these blank, ask before you sign. You can see how we structure our own always-on programme on our social media video production page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many videos should a monthly social media package include?

It depends on how often you post and on which platforms. A brand posting a few times a week on Reels and TikTok needs more short edits than one posting weekly on LinkedIn. Start from your posting calendar and work back to the number of edits.

Can we use footage from one shoot across several months?

Yes. Batching is the main reason always-on content is efficient. A well-planned shoot day often covers several weeks of posts, and leftover footage can be cut into new edits later.

Do you film in Thai and English, and add subtitles?

We produce content in Thai, English or both. Subtitles can be burned into the video or supplied as separate files, depending on the platform.

Who owns the raw footage and the finished edits?

This is set in the contract, so check it before you sign. Typically the client owns the finished edits, and raw footage can be provided if required.
